Two pool halls in Ventura are reviewed below. "Ventura", officially the City of San Buenaventura,is the county seat of Ventura County, California, United States. The coastal site, set against undeveloped hills and flanked by two free-flowing rivers, has been inhabited for thousands of years. European explorers encountered a Chumash village, referred to as Shisholop, here while traveling along the Pacific coast...Ventura lies along U.S. Route 101 between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, which was one of the original U.S. Routes. The highway is now known as the Ventura Freeway, but the original route through the town along Main Street has been designated El Camino Real, the historic pathway connecting the California missions." Stiix Billiards
A really well-run pool hall. Tables are in tip top shape, cleaned and vacuumed, and pockets are not loose. House cues are playable and competition is there at the right times. APA and BCA leagues shoot there, celebrities stop by, like Mike Massey. Brett Goodman behind the counter knows the game and all the regulars. 1st Sunday of each month – 9ball/10ball tournament, $100 added, $20+$5 green fee at 1:30. Thursday local 9-ball starts at 7PM.
One-pocket is a favorite there more than other places I've played. Seems like a safe place in a safe neighborhood. Jerry Matchin, owner. Their facebook page asks:

That must have been a great time. I wish I could have been there.
